NCHS 2017 Highlights: NCHS wins “Community Service Award.”

The North Canton Chamber’s Annual Awards Luncheon was held Thursday, March 23, 2017, with a keynote address from Ohio Attorney General Mike DeWine.

North Canton Heritage Society was the recipient of the North Canton Chamber of Commerce annual “Community Service Award.” This award is presented to “an organization or individual who has shown commitment to the preservation and appreciation of North Canton history and/or utilizing North Canton resources through renovation, refurbishment, and public education to enhance the quality of life in our community.” According to the chamber, “For many years the Heritage Society has done just that, reminding our residents of our rich history through displays, seminars and collaborative programs with other organizations.”

This award is a direct reflection of the work the Heritage has done in the past 45 years, which has been made possible through the support of its members, the dedicated group of volunteers and board of trustees, and, of course, the community.

Thank you to the community of North Canton. Thank you to the North Canton Chamber of Commerce. Thank YOU, to all our members, for your consistent support.

We, at NCHS, look forward to preserving and celebrating North Canton’s history for years to come.
