North Canton — In preparation for a ceremony to open the time capsule uncovered when the 1929 North Canton High School on Charlotte St. was demolished, the North Canton Heritage Society and the North Canton Alumni Association are looking for graduates of “NoCaHi” from 1940 and earlier to attend and be recognized at the Saturday, August 16 ceremony.
The ceremony will be held on the steps of the North Canton City Hall at noon during the annual Main Street Festival. The contents of the slim copper box found under the building’s cornerstone will be brought to light for the first time. The Hoover High School band will perform, and the public is invited to attend.
Any NoCaHi graduate from 1940 or earlier can contact the North Canton Heritage Society at 330-494-4791. Special recognition will be given to these early graduates during the ceremony.
